Keeping Motorcycles On The Road and Track Since 1979

It all started in my parents 10x8ft garden shed building engines on a chest freezer and servicing bikes on my knees, to now operating from a 2000 sq-ft unit in Cheltenham.

In June 1979, I was lucky enough to gain full time employment at Williams motorcycles in Cheltenham a week after leaving school. This was a family run business and a multi franchise dealership, while there I was sent on many training courses at Honda uk and Mitsui Yamaha.
After the closure of the dealership in the mid 80s I spent a short time in engineering, but my passion for motorcycles took me to Mead and Tomkinsons in Gloucester. This was another multi Japanese franchise dealership and more training followed at Yamaha.

In 1994 with the sale of the premises for housing imminent, I decided to leave and join a brand new Ducati only dealership in Cheltenham “The Powerhouse”.

The Ducati franchise was joined by Moto-Guzzi shortly after. While there I was sent on four training school trips to the Ducati factory in Bologna and the Moto-Guzzi training school near Modena, an experience i’ll never forget. Their passion for the brand was obvious to see.

The Powerhouse was then bought by Fowlers of Bristol. Triumph joined Ducati and over the years several trips to the training school at Triumph Hinckley followed.

Many years later Fowlers sold the dealership to bikes uk/Cheltenham motorcycles, it was now a solus Suzuki dealership.

In 2003 I decided it was time to leave and pursue my passion for motorcycles on my own. Moto-Vation was born, It’s a decision I’ve never regretted. It all started in my parents 10x8ft garden shed building engines on a chest freezer and servicing bikes on my knees, to now operating from a 2000 sq-ft unit in Cheltenham. With nearly 40 yrs in the industry I’m fortunate to have seen so many changes/developments and my love of motorcycles hasn’t changed since that first day in June 1979.

I’m lucky to have such wonderful support from family, friends and customers past and present, I thank you all.
